Worley release of G2 for Mac OS X
Posted by: amigo
Source: Worley Labs
 Date: Fri Jan 03 2003
Starting from today you can purchase the G2 for Mac OS X from Worley Labs, an excellent lighting and shading plugin for your LightWave3D.

G2 works within LightWave's Layout and offers a wide range of lighting and shading features, along with a new preview system that includes continuous, real-time updating. Among other features are skin tools, subsurface scattering, edge tools, interactive boosts and image processing and compositing features. Also included is an "Art Mode" that doesn't use lighting at all (for producing non-photographic imagery).

Other features of G2 are:

- Photomapping tools;
- Area lights;
- New shading models, including multiple layers, independent colors, new highlight falloffs, anisotropy, extended rim lighting, etc.;
- Soft reflections;
- New glass modeling without the need for doubled geometry;
- Luminous shadow darkening, such as the feature found in Sasquatch and Gaffer;
- Color correction within LightWave;
- Film grain;
- New tools for specularity, reflection, transparency, light groups and surface lighting;

Worley's G2 for Mac OS X is available for $499 starting today, while the existing users of Gaffer, Polk, Taft or Sasquatch can get the Mac version for $299. Demo version of is not yet available, but is expected to be made available today. An introductory discount price of $399 was supposed to expire today but due to shipping delay it might be extended further, though this is not clear yet.
