It seems that Alias|Wavefront's campaign with slashing prices on Maya Complete is having an effect on the 3D market. Another big player, Newtek in their latest press release announced "new Lightwave learning options for students". Seeing is believing, read the LightWave 7 Learning Options Press Release which announces the availability of a "LightWave Free Discovery Edition" (limited saving/watermarked), and a full featured educational version for US$395. Just think about what I said earlier that this Summer will be very intersting.
