New Orleans, LA - December 18, 2003 - Turbo Squid, the world's largest collection of royalty-free 3D assets for sale, today announced a custom 3D modeling service. This service will allow clients to draw from a pool of over 6300 digital artists around the world when a custom 3D modeling job is needed.
The service is designed to give Turbo Squid clients another avenue for content if they cannot fulfill their needs through the Turbo Squid library of more than 80,000 3D models, meshes, textures, audio files and mocap data available for download.
Artists may also earn additional revenue as their time permits by registering to be a part of this service. Turbo Squid will match the requirements of the job with the most qualified artists who have expressed an interest in this service. The goal is to select an artist and provide a quote within two business days.
"We have been receiving an increasing number of requests from clients about custom modeling, from changing a model they purchased online to designing a range of characters for a game," noted Dan Lion, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "At the same time, our vendors have expressed an interest in earning additional revenue when between projects. This service is a logical extension of Turbo Squid that benefits both parties while offering clients a unique avenue to fulfill their creative needs."

Artists who have uploaded assets to Turbo Squid may register using the form located at http://www.turbosquid.com/HTMLClient/CustomModeling/?ut=1.
