Disney Internet Group to Unveil Its First 3D Wireless Game

North Hollywood, CA - Mar. 22, 2004 - The Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) announced today that it is currently developing its first 3D mobile game, Tron 2.0 3D, based on the award-winning PC game from Buena Vista Interactive. The game will be shown for the first time at the CTIA Wireless 2004 conference in Atlanta, March 22-24, and is slated to be among the first 3D mobile content released later this spring as 3D capable phones launch in the U.S. The title will be available for both QUALCOMM's Brew(TM) solution and the Java platform.

The launch of Tron 2.0 3D to wireless platforms continues WDIG's leadership position in leveraging new technologies to advance mobile entertainment content. The game invites users to follow the original story line and high-impact game play from the popular original game, as adapted for smaller mobile devices.

"3D technologies are a major step forward for mobile entertainment. With them, consumers really begin to experience games and game play that they've come to expect from consoles and PCs," said Larry Shapiro, executive vice president, business development and operations for WDIG. "We've been very aggressive in leveraging new technologies to expand our consumers' experiences and in this case, we felt we had a franchise that could really benefit from this technology and in fact, showcase its capabilities."

"We are excited that major publishers such as WDIG are taking advantage of the BREW solution to advance to the next level of game development, thereby propelling forward the entire wireless gaming category," said Gina Lombardi, senior vice president of marketing and product management, QUALCOMM Internet Services. "WDIG is demonstrating its leadership by investing in this rapidly approaching future of 3D gaming on increasingly advanced devices."

Tron 2.0 3D is being developed in conjunction with Superscape using their real-time 3D Swerve engine and development tools. Game demos will be available at the QUALCOMM (3931 Hall B4) Kyocera (1653) CTIA booths.
