NewTek Unveils VT[3] Live at NAB 2004
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Mon Apr 19 2004
Las Vegas, NV, NAB 2004 - April 19, 2004 - NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading 3D animation and video products, today announced VT[3] Live, at NAB 2004, booth SL5045. VT[3] Live is an integrated production suite designed specifically for the live production market, with live switching, integrated content capture/playback, character generation and much more.

Live setup and production has never been this fast and this affordable. said Paul Lara, VT[3] Product Manager. VT[3] allows anyone to connect analog sources without racks of additional equipment or cabling, and get the show on the air, seamlessly combining produced clips with live cameras. Whether you are switching for LED Boards at a sports arena or uplinking your program to satellite, VT[3] combines the tools and features needed to get the job done.

The heart of VT[3] Live is the NewTek SX-8 switcher, offering up to 8 component, 8 Y/C or 24 composite video inputs and Balanced XLR audio input/output. VT[3] Live goes beyond simple video switching though, providing a host of tightly-integrated live production tools:

- Real-time keying and slo-mo
- Intuitive, virtual equipment: monitors, decks, vectorscopes and more
- Stream live events or finished productions to the Internet in real-time
- Character Generator
- Automated Audio mixer
- Integrated proc amp controls for every switcher input
- Hundreds of real-time 2D and 3D transitions
- Optional RS-8 Switcher control surface

"In the past my equipment list included MX switchers, but that's all changed," says Dan Hong of We Three Multimedia. "Now, I can provide unbelievably slick-looking shows, with equipment taking up only a tiny footprint in the room we're in. The productions look like they should cost $50,000, though we charge just a fraction of that. VT[3]'s integrated tools allow us to show up at the event prepared with graphics and pre-produced segments ready to roll using VT[3]'s Digital Disk Recorders. Stability is crucial for live producers, since there are never 'second takes' when mixing live cameras, multimedia content and audio for a large audience, and even though we are always trying something insane, VT[3] never fails us."

Pricing and Availability

VT[3] Live is available now in North America, priced at $5,495US and includes the VT[3], an SX-8 Switcher and the RS-8 Switcher Control Surface. For information on your nearest NewTek authorized reseller, see http://www.newtek.com/dealers.
