VideoToaster and Digital Fusion bundle
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Thu Sep 19 2002
Starting October 1st, you will be able to purchase a Video Toaster [2] bundled with Digital Fusion 4 (and LightWave3D) for a price of $2,495 ($5,995) depending whether you select the bundle with or without LightWave3D.
Personally, I always thought that VT was one of the most innovative gizmos for the TV/Video market ever released (another one was Commodore Amiga).

San Antonio, TX September 16, 2002 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading 3D animation and video products, and eyeon Software Inc., innovators of 2D compositing and image processing software, today announced two special bundles for the professional video graphics and animation market, combining the production power of Video Toaster [2] with the compositing capabilities of eyeons Digital Fusion 4 (DF4) and DFX+. Designed for use in film, broadcast and new media applications, the NewTek/eyeon systems are ideal for DVD authoring of motion menus, creation of show opens, commercials, credit sequences, promos, visual effects and much more.

VT[2] Graphics System: Video Edition
Designed for animators, motion graphic artists, video graphics professionals, and videographers working in standard definition NTSC and PAL, the Video Edition is Video Toaster [2] along with DFX+, the 8-bit version of eyeons image processing software, and 6 modules: Visual Effects, Keying, Input/Output, 3D Tools, Paint and Particles. DFX+ provides amazing compositing power, including blue screen keying, motion tracking, text tools and much more.

Users can add NewTeks award-winning LightWave 3D to the Video Edition for only $995, or existing LightWave 3D or 3D Studio Max users can use the Video Edition with the 3D software they already own.

VT[2] Graphics System: Film And High Def Edition
The standard definition Video Toaster [2] with Digital Fusion 4 and LightWave 3D is the no compromises, no limits, and complete solution for anyone who wants to create amazing moving images. Render, animate, and composite in any resolution you want, and with full floating point throughout, your color palette is unlimited, too. Video Toaster allows you to create standard definition previews of your film and high def elements on any video monitor.

People already know the Toaster as a powerful video tool, but we wanted to make something for the graphics and animation communities, too, said NewTek founder Tim Jenison We took some of our core technologies, added some new tools, and joined forces with our friends at eyeon to create these two new graphic bundles that put the power of a five hundred dollar an hour post production suite on your desk for a truly affordable price.

The VT[2] Graphics Systems provide high end compositing, particle system, video paint, color correction and more including compatibility with many Adobe After Effects plug-ins. The system delivers uncompressed video I/O, with the ability to combine composite, component, DV, NTSC, and PAL sources on the same timeline. Frames from Fusion, DFX+ and LightWave are available for immediate preview on an NTSC or PAL monitor, providing the ability to see exactly how the final product will look on television. For sharing previews with clients, there are Internet streaming capabilities.

Standard on all systems is ToasterEdit with simple, powerful, real-time editing and effects with both a timeline and storyboard interface. Additional tools and graphics capabilities include a waveform monitor/vectorscope, Aura Video Paint and the real-time CrossKeyer, to name a few.

Digital Fusions raw power, sophisticated tools and ease of use made it an invaluable companion during the making of Jimmy Neutron; Boy Genius. said Dave Adams, animator with Paramount Pictures/Neutronium. Flexibility is key in deadline intensive production. Fusion afforded me a range of freedom and the immediate feedback that made small miracles a daily occurrence!
We are very excited about the alliance between eyeon and NewTek. With so many of the larger post houses using our products, the integration of Digital Fusion, Video Toaster [2] and LightWave will greatly facilitate and enhance their production cycle. said Isaac Guenard, Digital Fusions Product Manager.
