Techbits

Greg
Techbits are a brain child of Greg Hess, who initially started them on the Discreet Forum, then moved them here to a permanent home; they are gathered, (chewed up) and processed by Greg Hess and Thomas Bruno, an all around good guys, hardware experts and 3DLuVr staff/contributing authors.

The Fastest* Pentium IV Chipset
Dr. Damage and the Gang take a look at the cream of the crop, the I875 Canterwood chipset. This is the one ladies and gents..its for workstation peeps. 800 FSB, 400 Megahertz Dual Channel DDR, PAT (Something Something that means faster), and a host of drool worthy features. Just look at the freaking heatsink on the northbridge!

*=Until something better comes out.

Coolermaster Aero 7. Its Got a Neat Fan!

R400 Delayed Till 2004?
Business week has an article suggesting that ATI's next gen part, the R400, won't be available till sometime next year. Fact or fiction? I go with fiction.

Overclocking AI?
Asus's new i875 motherboard claims to have some sort of artifical intelligence overclocking ability. Useful? We'll have to see how the actual implementation works.

Geforce FX 5200, Slower then Ti 4200's
Is it me, or are all the FX cards sans the 5800 Ultra pretty slow for a next gen part?
