The Big Picture Once the money's in the bank, the chickens are hatched, and every cliché known to man has found its end, Dreamscape is a solid product. If you're looking for realistic results in a fast and user-friendly manner, this plugin if for you. Of course if you want to be pulling your hair out for hours trying to properly animate foam caps without it, you can do that too, it's totally up to you! For me, I'd rather get the background out of the way and start in with the sea battles and other animations filled with carnage and action. And that is exactly what DreamScape does for you when it comes to backgrounds and environments - it gives you superb realism and fast render times without the extensive effort one might expect. Taking into account the cost of the plugin ($595 commercial, $99 student license) I would recommend this product to anyone. It is user friendly, smooth, and best of all it achieves great results. Now, for all of you who decided to skip my unbelievable review of this product and get straight to the recommendation, I'll endorse your laziness by giving you a quick list of pros and cons: Pros Cons - Streamline interface - Long render times using 3D clouds - Excellent documentation - Requires a DS Sky ro render out any - Superb training videos scene - Good support forums for members - Amazing Sea dynamics - It's discreet certified - Easy to learn - easy to use I really hope that this review has given you an adequate picture of DreamScape as a whole and its features. I also hope you enjoy using this plugin as much as I have. I just want to again thank Turbo Squid and 3DLuVr for allowing me to do this review and thanks to everyone who reads it. With that my job is finished (for now - there will be some video tutorials for DS in the near future) and yours has just begun, so get to work, and enjoy! |
