The Additional Characters
The girl running is a standard lowpoly game-character and it is modeled as a single mesh, with Surface tools.
The difference is: each vertices used are corners, and the Surface applied has no patch topology steps.
The technique is the same: place each and every vertex one by one in the right place, cut some polygons, edges, extrude them...

The mapping technique is UnwrapUVW and the mesh is linked to Physique:

This character carrying the piece of the decoration was made from the same mesh (of the girl). I gave him a new haircut and large clothes :), it was done in about a half an hour including the preparing of the pictures for mapping and the animation.
