The snow material

Go to Material Editor , choose Oren-Nayar-blinn material, lock the ambient and the diffuse and choose it white.
In the opacity map choose a bitmap (you can find the bitmap for the opacity enclosed in the maps file at the end of the article)

Check Two Sided and Face Map, and assign it to the particle system.

Now let's add the motion blur to some particles, to increase the reality of the scene. To do this, right click on the particle system and choose property, in the panel check enabled on motion blur and select object. (the motion blur depends on the velocity parameter of the snow) Remember that this will increase your rendering time alot!!!!!!!!!!!
