Techbits

Greg
Techbits are a brain child of Greg Hess, who initially started them on the Discreet Forum, then moved them here to a permanent home; they are gathered, (chewed up) and processed by Greg Hess and Thomas Bruno, an all around good guys, hardware experts and 3DLuVr staff/contributing authors.

PowerBook's new PC rival designed by Porsche
The VPR Matrix 200A5 is the third notebook Best Buy has created, and it's the best. It's also the first Windows notebook with a wide-aspect, 15.2-inch LCD with a 1,280x854 native resolution and a remarkable, high-fidelity digital audio system. The $2,399 system also includes a 2GHz Pentium 4-M, 512MB of DDR SDRAM, a 40GB hard drive, a combo CD-RW/DVD drive, and integrated 802.11b wireless networking. It all comes in an eye-catching, silver-magnesium case that weighs 6.4 pounds and measures 13.9 inches wide, 10 inches deep, and 1.2 inches thick.

ATI Is Seeing Double
Double DDR that is. DDR-II to be exact. But then of course I couldn't come up with an interesting title for that, so this is what you get. The question is...what is nvidia doing!!!! Where's our #1 super happy fun ultra elite accelerators!

3dlabs Releases the Wildcat4
Lots of PR, Lots of Graphics, and Lots of Graphs.

And no mention whatsoever of price. I hope these are early driver scores, because 3% performance difference isn't going to make up for a hefty price tag...especially when this is competing against nvidia's previous gen products.

3.5 Inches and Still Pleasing
Ah the 3.5 form factor. Who would have ever though we'd be fitting 200 gigs into such a small amount of space. Storage review knows and tells all about the new WD2000JB 200 gig ATA-133 HD...Always remember that looks can be decieving.

WinZip 8.1 SR-1
WinZip 8.1 Service Release 1 (download) includes a change to the original release of WinZip 8.1 . The change addresses a vulnerability that is already properly handled, as of WinZip 8.0, for Zip files; WinZip 8.1 SR-1 addresses it for the other archive types supported by WinZip, such as TAR and CAB.
