More Oem Ati Cards
Another non ATI Radeon 9700 pro. Pretty spiffy that the normal video card manufacturers are starting to produce their own cards. Only time will tell if this is a good thing.

Barracuda V, First retail Serial-ATA Drive
Here's a nice review on the new segate barracuda V, which will be (supposedly) the first retail Serial-ATA drive on the market. Though the reviewed model is NOT Serial-ATA the performance #'s will be EXACT, as serial-ata gives no performance benefit over current IDE technology. (The drives are not fast enough to fill up the bandwidth).

Don't Bother with AGP 8X?
Based on our initial testing, AGP 8X on today's architectures and with current applications doesn't appear to deliver any appreciable performance improvement for nVidia boards. The Radeon 9700's potential benefit from AGP 8X is still something of a question mark. This story may change down the road, it will take some time for game developers to architect game engines that use AGP 8X to produce significant performance improvements.

External H20...
Ed hit the pool with a big splash with one of the first retail "external" watercooling setups. Pretty innovative if you want alternatives to air cooling, but don't like the idea of a pump and resevoir inside your case.

More PowerPC Lovin from Ars
Here's a bit more info on the new 64 bit processor from IBM, which should give a nice ramp up to apple's hardware lineup, giving mac users something to brag about other then their damn os for once.
Though it looks like by the time this chip is released, everything else will be running about 3x faster. Heh
